February Activities 2025
Ducks
This Month the Ducks have been reading the Book “Aliens Love Underpants” and decided to base our activities this month about Planets and Aliens.
We have had various Tuff trays throughout the month with a variety of activities. These include Rice with Pictures of Planets, aliens and stars. The children have been using their hand eye coordination and fine motor skills to pour the rice and have been learning the names of the planets.
We cut out underpants using white card and the children had fun designing their Alien underpants with a selection of materials including buttons wool and paper to stick on. We discussed the different colours and textures of the different materials that we were using.
We had a tuff tray with cooked coloured spaghetti and some scissors. We were pretending that the spaghetti was the Aliens hair and we were giving them hair cuts which really helped with our scissor control.
We enjoyed reading Aliens Love Underpants and The Super Smelly Aliens, and have been singing the songs “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”,” Zoom Zoom Zoom” and “5 little Men in a Flying Saucer” regularly to coincide with our theme.
Ducklings
The Ducklings have been learning about First Aid this month, We have made First Aid boxes, expanding our creative skills and tried learning some of the words of the supplies which is helping us to expand our Speech and Language skills. We also practised our role playing by being Dr’s and patients.
We had a tuff tray with coloured spaghetti, we put a little spaceman in the spaghetti and the children had to rescue the spaceman using 2 large spoons. This was helping us to improve our hand eye coordination skills.
Our Colour we were learning this month was pink. We had a tuff tray of pink rice with scoops and accessories to help us with our hand eye coordination and fine motor skills where we practiced skills such as scooping and pouring. It also included many other pink items.
We made some pink gloop and had fun feeling and describing the gloopy texture and we did some sponge painting with our pink paint. We also had fun singing baa baa pink sheep.
Some of our crafts this month included, a pink pig, a rocket and a heart.
