April Activities 2026

This month we have been very busy with different topics

We enjoyed an Easter egg hunt where the children looked for plastic Easter eggs and found chocolates inside.

We got to try hot cross buns at snack time and they were very tasty.

We made Easter cakes using cornflakes and chocolate. We had to mix the two ingredients together then put them in the fridge to set, then we got to take them home.

We now have a new climbing frame downstairs and have had great fun exploring and challenging ourselves on it.

We have also been learning about planting.

We have planted tomatoes and cucumbers as a group and individually we have planted runner beans. We had to put the soil in the pot and put our seed in, we then covered it with more soil and added a little bit of water.

We have also been learning about how plants and food grow and what is needed to keep them alive.

We have looked at books and sang songs about plants.

In our tuff tray we had soil, roses and scoops

They have also done a craft using paper plates, and cardboard. They cut and painted carrots to put on their plates and painted the outer plate.

The children also went on find and draw hunt where they had to search for the object that was the same as their picture. They then had to draw it.

Alongside these activities we also did a messy play which had shaving foam, toothpaste, glitter and glue in it. We decided it felt quite slimy and soft but after mixing with our hands for a while it turned fluffy.

We also tried it another day with flour and water. We started with flour in our tray and used pipettes to add water to the tray, it started quite lumpy and found the more water we added to it the runnier it turned out.
