Life cycles

Craft- The children made a caterpillar – using circles they stuck together the eyes, legs, mouth and nose.

They Coloured in a chrysalis and they made a butterfly, they cut out the butterfly and added glitter to the wings.

We have real caterpillars which they are looking after until they turn into butterflies.

Tuft tray – Matching shapes on the butterfly.

The children also made butterfly wings.

All the children that were in did a visit to sues farm. They got to see sheep, lambs, pygmy goats, chickens, chicks and ducks.

We spoke about the sound the animals make and If the animals were soft, rough etc. They had snack in the field.

Easter card

Craft- the children put blobs of pastel colours on the egg and put cling film over the top. They used their fingers to spread the paint out and discussed what that felt like. They mentioned words such as squishy, smooth and cold. They also talked about how they didn’t get paint on their fingers.

The children had a chance to decorate easter cookies with icing and sprinkles to take home

Recycling

The children had a discussion about recycling and how we also do this at home. We spoke about the colours of the bins and what items can be recycled.

Tuft tray – sorted recycling into bins, there were lots of pictures of bits for them to sort.
