July Activities 2025

Ducks
KGV visit
The Ducks at Little Learners had a fantastic morning at the KGV thanks to the Health Commission.
They found many different coloured butterflies and bugs.
The Health commission very kindly had some toys for us to play with and explore and had magnifying pots, we caught a beetle, fly and an ant. We got to look at them very closely and through the magnifying glass we could see their bodies and shapes a lot more clearly.
We looked at how many different coloured flowers we could find and also found out there were many different shaped and coloured leaves. Some were short and wide and some were very long and thin.

They had fun in the tuft tray with a car wash, they had to follow the arrows with their cars into the mud which was made with flour, water and paint. They continued following the arrows to the soapy water, they used sponges to wash their cars then followed the arrows to the drying area where there was paper towels. The final arrow led them back to their parking spaces.
During this process they learned about directions, cleaning, step by step process and sensory.
The second tuft tray had sellotape placed zigzag all over with pompoms underneath. The children had to use their tweezers to try to get the pompoms out through the gaps of Sellotape
They practiced fine motor and hand/eye co-ordination. We also expanded this by using smaller pompoms and also sticking some to the sellotape meaning they had to grip stronger with the tweezers to grab.

Graduation
The children had a great time on Saturday 28th July at their graduation where they had their medals and certificates. They sang to their parents a song they had been learning. They also enjoyed a picnic with their families and celebrated their next journey.
Ducks/Ducklings
Both groups had a visit to the agricultural show where they got to see a variety of animals such as horses, goats, cows, donkeys and sheep. They also enjoyed the bus ride there and back.

Balancing skills
Different textures
They took a trip to the park to do a scavenger hunt where they were looking for lots of different items such as a leaf, the duck house, a bench etc. They also had a play on the park apparatus which encouraged them to balance and use their co-ordination skills.
They enjoyed having snack at the café and had fun on the bouncy castle and the two bob the builder sit in tractors.

They have been learning about different jobs such as teachers and hairdressers and doing lots of role play involving these.
They had a teddy bears picnic where they got to bring in their favourite teddy to join in.
They have also had fun with the paddling pools and taking advantage of the lovely weather. They enjoyed learning how the water feels with pouring.
